On April 20, the EU Court of Justice ruled on the action brought by the EU Parliament on March 5, 2021 (Case C-144/21) to annul the Commission’s implementing decision C(2020) 8797 of December 18, 2020. The plaintiff was agreed in this ruling, which means that the authorisation decision is now (in its essential parts) annulled (see attached press release). The EU Commission has 1 year to revise the process. During this time, the chromium trioxide may continue to be used by users in the field of hard chrome plating.
